Introduction
MAD mobilises young leaders towards ensuring equitable outcomes for children in need of care and protection. They are building a community around these children. A community of those who care and want to contribute in whichever way they can to help build long-term solutions to this problem. volunteer management system
Their long-term goal is to change how both system and families care for and invest in children, and we target stable middle-class adult outcomes for all the children we work with. The very essence of MAD’s mission is centered around Equitable Opportunity and Transformative Education.
The Challenge
MAD, in pursuit of its mission, confronted a substantial obstacle in the form of inefficient volunteer mobilization and management. The intricate processes of sourcing, recruiting, and coordinating with dedicated volunteers emerged as formidable barriers, impeding the organization’s mission.
One of the challenges faced by volunteers was the cumbersome task of navigating through multiple applications to record their volunteering efforts. This complexity extended to tasks such as maintaining attendance records for mentees and handling various operational responsibilities.
The need for a more streamlined and user-friendly system became evident, as volunteers found themselves grappling with the intricacies of recording their contributions and managing essential operations. The challenge lay in creating a more efficient and accessible framework. that would empower volunteers to contribute seamlessly to MAD’s social impact initiatives.
Partnership with Platform Commons
To surmount these challenges, MAD turned to two powerful allies: Better Together (Volunteer Management System) & Campus Cloud (Shelter Home Operations System). These solutions were created together by the teams of Platform Commons and MAD. This ultimately enhanced the volunteer experience, the efficiency & the impact.
The products were conceived by Platform Commons in partnership with U&I and later with Bhumi’s Ignite Operations. The solutions have truly become a community-curated asset and serves more than 15 nonprofits.

With the new approach, MAD’s recruitment team now drives volunteer sourcing campaigns, from referrals to events, all through a single, user-friendly interface. By consolidating all recruitment tools into one robust system, we are ensuring a smooth transition from application to deployment.
