Through after-school learning program, U&I Teach invests in children from underprivileged backgrounds with courses in English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Under this umbrella, U&I also runs a 360 degree Program where children are given a holistic education through science camps, field trips, art workshops and career building workshops, in order to build their confidence. Today, U&I reaches 1600 children in 20 cities across India. The goal is to give every student the opportunity to shine in the classroom – and beyond.

U&I provides tuition classes to students which helps them excel at difficult subjects like math and science. Most of these students are first-generation learners whose first language is a local language. We aim to teach these children English in order to make them eligible to study in a college of their choice and increase their employability. We also aim to reach out to the students who have already dropped out of school and have no basic education.

U&I & Platform Commons began by digitizing the volunteer recruitment process across all 20 cities and 90 centers. The application process of volunteers was hosted at “University of Commons”, a change-maker’s portal. Recruiters from call cities and centers collaboratively recruit volunteers throughout the year. Next was digitizing the learning center’s operations by onboarding all students, volunteers, leaders; eventually leading to taking online assessments, attendance, and center quality inspections.

Today, we support U&I in scaling operations across India through data, technology, & processes needed to engage students in building skills needed for a predictable and better future.
